The Sylvania Rotary Club is hosting the Japanese Group Study Exchange (GSE) Team from April 28th through May 2nd. Below is more information about the GSE team members. 5 Sylvania Rotarians will provide 'bed and breakfast' while they are in our care.
GSE Team Leader - Tony Yoshimitsu “Tony” Kobayakawa: Married, 68-year-old chairman of the board of a manufacturing firm that makes stamping dies for automobile bodies and counterweights for forklifts. Tony has two children ages 38 and 40.
Miyo Miyoko Matsuoka – Single, 36 year old dietician with 15 years experience in food services of Japanese corporations planning menus for their cafeterias. Site-visit requests: Cafeterias, food services, supermarkets, Japanese restaurant, macrobiotic, cooking school. “I would like to visit and observe many companies to make good use of my next menu planning.”
Rena Rena Kobayashi – Single, 34 year old employee of the Toyohashi City Hall. She has 9 year’s work experience after studying law. Her current responsibility is planning programs to promote a gender-equal society, such as holding seminars for women and and managing consulting work for women. Site-visit requests: A city hall, a facility for women’s education, gender equality, a city assembly, studying the way of American administration.
Asa Asako Takabayashi – Single, 31-year-old, musician with ten years experience playing contra bass in a symphony orchestra. Site-visit requests: Participation in an orchestra rehearsal, Conservatoire/contrabass lesson, attending a lecture in concert appreciation.
Kazu Kazutoyo Itoh – Married 31-year-old mechanical engineer, with 1 child less than 1-year old. Five year’s work experience. Responsibilities include developing new cutting tools. Site-visit requests: Manufacturing factories – seeing how they develop their work.
